Innovative methodologies
for working with young people in the field of cultural heritage, preservation
and promotion of culture were demonstrated by international experts from 6
countries - Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey and Bulgaria. They
exchanged valuable experience in the training of young people and new
opportunities for their motivation and inclusion in the preservation of
cultural traditions through non-formal education. This took place during a
5-day training (April 5-9), part of the MINERVA - Youth for European Heritage
Project, funded under the Erasmus + programme, KA 2 Youth Programme.
The training was hosted
by Regional Development Agency with Business Support Centre for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises - a partner in the project. Each country each day
presented its programme with curious informal learning methods and
methodologies. Such as, for example, professional photography and shooting of
cultural events and destinations, promotion of cultural traditions in
social networks and public media, digital skills in the presentation of
cultural traditions, and the use of special internet platforms for visitation
and cultural sights. Traditional customs, crafts and rituals have been
demonstrated in each of the six partner countries.
The most interesting
thing was, however, Bulgaria's Day, where the guests were fascinated by the organization of the host - Regional
Development Agency with Business Support Centre for Small and Medium-sized
Enterprises.
Experts from the Plovdiv
2019 Foundation presented the initiative "Plovdiv 2019 - European Capital
of Culture" as well as the overall organization and programme during the campaign and the team of the host introduced the participants
with two films about Plovdiv as the oldest living city in Europe and Bulgaria's
leading cultural center, and spoke about its active and fruitful cooperation
with the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation.
The day of Bulgaria also
included a presentation of cultural heritage through informal youth training -
learning by doing, making original martenitsas and traditional Easter eggs colouring. All
participants also made a tourist bicycle tour along the Maritsa River, part of the routes for slow, green and healthy tourism –
an innovative training and educational tourist routes for
non-formal learning, developed by the Agency under the project "INSIGHTS -
integrated strategies for slow, green and healthy tourism" funded under
the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme 2014-2020. The latter caused great
interest and a lot of emotions among the participants during their tour of
cycling to the biggest island of Maritsa River
- "Adata".
