Erasmus+ Conference

A CONFERENCE,
dedicated to the interaction between all stakeholders in the vocational education and training sector
On 03/11/2021 in the building of UARR (University of Agribusiness and Regional Development) Plovdiv was held a conference dedicated to the interaction between all stakeholders in the VET sector (vocational education and training), organized by HRDC (Human Resource Development Centre) and the National Expert Team on VET and ECVET (Bulgarian National VET Team).
Participants debated the role of the ECVET system in supporting innovation in the creation of training programs in the VET sector in Bulgaria, as well as the relationship between business, 21st century competencies and the transition between vocational and higher education.
Velizar Petrov, Executive Director of RDA BC SME (Regional Development Agency with Business Support Centre for of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises - Plovdiv), presented the topic "The role of 21st century competencies in updating training programmes in VET in Bulgaria.
Demand for highly skilled workers is projected to grow very rapidly, while the number of jobs for people with no or low skills will decline. High internal migration also leads to a contraction of the labor force.
"Education of the future is modular, high-tech, holistic, decentralized, hybrid, dual, online controlled," said Velizar Petrov, citing examples of professions of the future that we do not even suspect will exist at this stage: space waste archaeologist (will collects and researches unnecessary satellites and parts of ships left in outer space), memory management specialist (will manage interfaces), wildlife recovery strategist, energy storage device discoverer, body designer, virtual habitat designer . There is already talk of a lawyer in the ethics of technology, who will deal with legal cases related to robotics and artificial intelligence, an Internet of Things analyst and a manager of intelligent smart systems (cities, homes).
In this regard, he presented, as a good example, the START UP FOR DEVELOPMENT project, funded by the ERASMUS + programme, on which RDA BSC SME is currently working.
The START UP FOR DEVELOPMENT project focuses on the concept of smart cities / villages and the understanding of this concept by municipalities that implement smart solutions in their environment.
The following training modules are being developed within the project:
Module 1. Introduction focuses on the introduction of the concept of smart cities and the understanding of this concept by municipalities that are called to implement smart solutions in urban environments.
Module 2. Smart governance focuses on smart governance as the most complex way to manage ecosystems and make decisions.
Module 3. Smart environment focuses on smart systems for environmental quality management and improving energy efficiency in cities.
Module 4. Intelligent Transport focuses on the link between the mobility function of the urban ecosystem and sustainability in its triple environmental, social and economic dimension.
