In the new 2022 year, the Regional
Development Agency with Business Support Centre for Small and Medium-sized
Enterprises – Plovdiv started to work on a new project - Smart Tourism Skills
(SMARTOUR).
It focuses on adult education and
in particular on the concept of smart tourism solutions. In this way we can
meet the needs of creating intelligent tourism solutions in European cities by
and for tourism entrepreneurs.
Here we understand smart tourism as
a concept that actively connects tourist sites (natural monuments, historical
monuments, cities, towns, etc.) with best practices in areas such as
accessibility, sustainability, digitalization, cultural heritage and
creativity, cooperation and marketing.
As part of the project, we plan to
design curricula and educational methodologies, as well as to develop teaching
materials, in partnership with universities and organizations from Slovakia,
Slovenia, Austria, Serbia and Poland.
The duration of the project is 24
months and in January we held the first online meeting on the project.
The project is co-financed by the
Erasmus + programme of the European Union.
