MYSTICAL DANUBE: trainings and seminars in Plovdiv region

During this period, a series of meetings are being held in Plovdiv region under the project MYSTICAL DANUBE: "GREEN AND MYSTIC DANUBE STORYTELLING ROUTE - TRANSNATIONAL VALORIZATION OF NATURAL AND INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE FOR SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL AREAS IN THE DANUBE REGION", funded by the INTERREG Danube Transnational Programme.

The project targets rural and less-visited areas that face high unemployment and social exclusion, particularly among disadvantaged groups. By leveraging the rich natural and cultural heritage of these regions, the project aims to foster community development through transnational cooperation and the development of a Green and Mystical Danube Storytelling Route.

This route will collect and tell local stories, legends, support the development of potential by engaging local communities, including disadvantaged groups, in the development of tourism services in the community.

The challenges related to socio-economic development, the preservation of cultural, historical and natural wealth, and the development of tourism in the Danube region and along the Maritsa River are lively discussed.

Pieces of training and discussions for the analysis of the situation are successfully combined as a basis for developing the capacity and potential of the region and groups of stakeholders.

The Bulgarian partner in the project is the Regional Development Agency with Business Support Center for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Plovdiv, and the associated partner is the Plovdiv Regional Administration.

More events are coming up in settlements in the Plovdiv Region under this project with the active assistance of the Thracian Tourist Region Management Organization and the Regional Information Center - Plovdiv, which is a part of the network of 27 information centers in the country for the promotion of the Cohesion Policy of the European Union.
