On 30 September and 1 October 2025, a
partner meeting was held in Čakovec, Croatia, within the framework of the
project “MYSTICAL DANUBE – Green and Mystical Danube Storytelling Route”,
funded by the Interreg Danube Region Programme and co-financed by the European
Union. Bulgaria was represented by the
Regional Development Agency with Business Support Centre for Small and
Medium-sized Enterprises – Plovdiv, the official Bulgarian partner in the
project. The meeting also welcomed the participation of representatives from community
cultural centres (chitalishta) and the tourism sector, acting as key
stakeholders from Bulgaria. The programme encompassed working
sessions on project progress, a financial review, a visit to the Museum of
Intangible Heritage, as well as a dedicated team-building and networking event
in the Fairytale Forest near Čakovec. The involvement of Bulgarian partners
and stakeholders highlighted the importance of cultural heritage and tourism as
driving forces for the sustainable development of the Danube Region. The project MYSTICAL DANUBE: “Green
and Mystical Danube Storytelling Route – Transnational Valorisation of Natural
and Intangible Cultural Heritage for the Socio-economic Development of Rural
Areas in the Danube Region” is funded under the Interreg Danube Transnational
Programme. The Bulgarian partner is the Regional Development Agency with
Business Support Centre for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises – Plovdiv, with
the Plovdiv Regional Administration as an associated partner.
