Our projects - part of the Cohesion Policy

The European Parliament's main investment policy is the regional one. It targets all regions and cities in the European Union in order to support job creation, business competitiveness, economic growth, sustainable development and improve the quality of life of citizens.

In order to achieve these objectives and to meet the development needs of all regions, € 352 billion of cohesion policy for 2014-2020 are envisaged which accounts for almost one third of the total EU budget.

The Executive Director of the Regional Development Agency with a Business Center for Support of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Eng. Manager  Mr. Velizar Petrov shared:

"One of our projects, called INSIGHTS, is related to integrated strategies for slow, green and healthy tourism and its duration is  30 months.. We plan to develop an integrated strategy for slow, green and healthy tourism in the region of Plovdiv *NUTS 3 level)  in partnership with ten countries in the Danube region. We exchange good practices and see how they happen at policy level across countries, and apply their experience and model locally. It is envisaged as a pilot activity to develop a tourist center. Projects under these programs are in the range of 2-3 million euros each, with each country having about 100-200 thousand euros, which can be spent during these 30 months."

Our second project in Plovdiv also applies the Cohesion Policy: "It is called STOB regions and targets a relatively new topic for Bulgaria - the transfer of business and the succession of business in family businesses."
